How we refurbish windows
- We remove the window from the boat, clean the landing and fit a blank to keep debris out while we work.
- We remove all the fixings and split the window so the acrylic (Perspex) can be measured for replacement.
- We clean the frames, note any parts that need replacing and tell you about any extra cost before going ahead.
- Once the new cut-to-size acrylic is ready, we reassemble the window and dry fit it before the final fit and seal.
Curved windows need heat forming to match their shape, so we send these to a specialist for heat-treated moulding.
Replacement windows and hatches
Where a window or hatch can’t be refurbished, we replace it. We always try to match like for like, but some models for older boats are no longer made. In that case we source the closest possible match.
